"INOMOXO"
(free versión from the novel entitled "The
three halves of Ino Moxo")
Author: CESAR CALVO.
A long time ago, when the Amazon natives were being exterminated
by the presence of the rubber and oil seekers, the witch leader
of the Amawaka nation called Ximu had an invader's son kidnapped
and appointed him as his successor. He re-baptized him under
the name of Ino Moxo, which in amawaka language means "Black
Panther."
Later on, this boy, some sort of a Messiah, would bring salvation
to the village by one simple reason, he can buy the weapons
the village needs to fight the settler invasion. Indians,
considered savages, were forbidden from purchasing weapons.
The ritual of drinking Ayahuasca, sacred beverage of the Amazon
Indians to contact their gods, is the excuse to tell the story
of this character who was known as the all almighty witch
doctor.
From the moment the actor felt this illumination, he was able
to achieve his role as the guide to routes and roads, truths
and revelations that transcend this ancestral potion, an elixir
to achieve resistance.
Acting and direction: RAFO DIAZ
Direction advisory: BASILIO SORALUZ
* INO MOXO has been invited to various Festivals and Theater
Meetings in South and Central America, as well as in Europe.
It has been seen by approximately 18,000 since its opening
in October, 1995.
