AND THE MAGIC AMAZON THOUGHTS
Oroma, leading and paradigmatic character in my narrative
work, seeks to represent the historical memory and wisdom
of the Peruvian Amazon people.
Oroma's wisdom and knowledge of nature is the same as
that of the native and river town of the Amazon region.
In contrast to the western concept of nature - which
comes from the Aristotle logic and Cartesian rationality
- the native cosmo-vision believes that beyond material
and objective reality, there is another one, the real
reality.
It is in this real reality, which you can access through
the ayahuasca (the rope of the dead) and through dreams,
where entities from a primordial world live, with whom
you can talk and co-exist.
Chulla chaquis, Mothers of the Ponds, Rivers and Forests
amid the wonderful biodiversity of the Amazon universe.
This native cosmo-vision, which is Oroma's, allows him
to integrate himself in total harmony with nature.
This is why the paradigm of the new world ecology is
funded on the native thinking, Panteism and the Soul,
the philosophy that integrates man with nature.
Oroma is post-modern ecologist and he is also old and
modern, local, regional and universal. His life and
word are a lesson on how man can survive on planet earth.
